Dress Code for Teachers

Nurturing Rainbow Preschool is an environment where we encourage each other to express our best selves and that includes our clothes and accessories. Teachers are required to dress professionally and appropriately. Outfits must accommodate sitting on the floor and on small chairs comfortably, bending without showing inappropriate parts of the body and be suitable for outdoor and playing with children. At Nurturing Rainbow Preschool, we all know how important the relationship and quality of communication between teacher and child is. This begins with a visual impression
Here are some guidelines regarding dress code at the centre:

Tops should not be revealing or too short.

T-shirts should not have slogans on them.

Socks must be worn at all times.

Skirts should not be too short or too tight.

Denim is allowed as long as it looks professional and appropriate. It should not be frayed, faded or ripped.

Greeting at Arrival

Teachers and support teachers are expected to be in the classroom at least 15 minutes before the start of the session to welcome the children. As the children arrive, they are greeted and encouraged to unpack their bags.
Your role:
A cheerful greeting sets the tone for the day. So do remember to greet the parents and the children as they walk in and assist the children in their daily routine.

Tea Time

Tea time is for children to relax and engage in conversations. We encourage children to try new food but do not force them to finish everything on their plate.

Your role:

Join the children at the table during tea time and engage in conversations with them. You should also help to serve the snacks on some days.

Classroom Management

During Learning Centres, children move in small groups or individually from one learning centre to another. Children are encouraged to make choices and some may need guidance. Teachers act as facilitators. Children are encouraged to speak and ask questions.

Your role:

Speak to your senior teacher about the management techniques if you are unfamiliar with learning centres.
