The quote “every student can learn, just not on the same day or in the same way” drives my passion. Through my experiences in teaching, this has been something that I’ve held close to my heart. All children, whether or not they might be fast learners or slow learners, deserve the same treatment from teachers. As teachers, we should be aware and create a nurturing environment for the children to learn in.
“It takes a big heart to help shape little minds”, so I thought, why not be that big heart? I came across this quote back in secondary school which really inspired me to take the step forward and be an inspiring early childhood educator. I believe that children’s development and learning is complex. As a teacher myself, I support my children by providing holistic learning experiences to tailor to the learning needs of each child. My teaching philosophy is that every child is different and they require a holistic environment to shape them mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially.
A teacher is a living innovation. It is tough being a preschool teacher even though others say otherwise. I believe in the importance of a strong and clear philosophy of teaching as it reflects a unique portrait of myself as a teacher. My teaching philosophy is that every child is unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. It is my desire and passion to create a safe environment where children can reach their full potential and develop holistically.
I personally believe that every child is different and we as teachers should try our best to understand the strengths and weaknesses of each child so that we can better plan a curriculum that is suitable for them. As early childhood educators, we should also make sure that we have sufficient knowledge of the industry so that we can help children develop by creating an environment and curriculum that suits their needs.
