Community/Parental Involvement
Assembly Performance (Every Term)
We recognise the importance of parental and family role in early childhood. Parents are an integral part of our community and are involved in activities as much as possible. Our school holds an assembly performance every term and we invite parents to watch their child's assembly performance.
Field Trip to KidsStop 2019
In conjunction to last year’s theme, in which children learnt about occupations, our K1 children went on a field trip to KidsStop. There, they were provided with ample opportunities to learn through interactive play as they explored more than 20 exhibits and themed zones such as Flight and Space, Built and Environment and The Innovation Lab, designed to introduce concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. As per our school’s tradition, our yearly field trips were often accompanied by parent volunteers. During this field trip, about 10 parents were involved as they volunteered to tag along and assisted the teachers.
Service Learning 2019
Our school holds service learning lessons every term. In term 1, we taught the children to give back to the community and to show their appreciation towards foreign workers. We started the lesson by introducing the song “Please and Thank You”. During the main activity, the children used different coloured markers and post-its to write a “Thank You” note for the foreign workers that are contributing to the society. They also painted on heart-shaped clay magnets which were gifted to the foreign workers.
